LED Growshow

December 12, here it is; 181 gram of perfectly dry and tasty Bud from one 150 watt HansPanel. Total power consumption, vegging included has been 125,1 kWH. In other words; 1,45 Gram for each kWH, or 1,2 Gram for every watt of HansPanelPower, pretty impressive, isn't it?

December 5, how about this? 2 full, 30 cm sized, plates and 10 great Cola's, all from a single 150 watt HansPanel... It is much more than Set-up 18, I'm very happy indeed :-) I'll let you guys know the dry weight in a few days.

Next Set-up starts in a few weeks, I'm building a 150 watt panel with White/Red/DeepRed leds, I really need to know if W/R/DR is a good alternative. So..let's find out, please come back for more.

November 28, theoretically they should be finished by now, but I'll give them a few days extra to get more orange hairs and milky trichromes. They still only get water, won't give them any nutrients. Looks like a great result is coming up, but I still wonder if pruning, removing lower leaves and branches in the vegging and early flowering period, would increase the yield.

November 16, with 2 weeks to go, the buds are doing well, I did notice brown spots on some of the leaves, must be from slightly overfeeding them, so for this week I only give them water.

October 29, plants look absolutely great, and flowers are booming. With every liter of water 1 ml BioGrow and 2 ml BioBloom added. There are 4 weeks to go.

October 16, growth has stopped and flowers are developing rapidly, with every liter of water 3 ml BioGrow is added. There are 6 weeks to go.

October 5, the box is now completely filled with plants, the light has been switched to flowering mode, maximum power. Please note the distance to canopy is kept at a constant 30 cm, it gives a very good combination of lightspread and light reception of the plants. Closer to the plants would give too little light in the corners, a bigger distance would lead to more losses to the sides.

September 27, Switched to 12/24 hours light today, the panel is still into vegging mode, the theoretical end of flowering is November 29. Please note these plants are just 15 cm, 6"", high, so I expect to get 9 solid candles of bud.

September 21, almost ready to switch to flowering, the plants are very healthy.

September 11, the transplanted seedlings are beginning to grow in their new (and final) home. In the center pot you can see the Spectrum meter, it is a very useful tool, it's data is sent to an Ipad by a bluetooth connection. The panel is now about 30 cm above the pots and the vegging setting is selected, the spectrum is shown below, please note the high amount of blue light.

Today I'm starting a new Set-up, a renewed test of the very popular 150 Watt panel, now with 9 SkunkXL plants, just like in Set-up 17

Here is the spectrum of the 150 watt in full flowering setting, compared to the absorption spectrum of plants. You can see the output of the 150 watt starts at about 400 nM with a tiny bit of UV and ranges all the way to 720 nM. The two big peaks at 450 and 640 nM do most of the work, where the conversion into uMols is optimal efficient.

Here is the spectrum of the 150 watt, compared to the absorption spectrum of plants. You can see the output of the 150 watt starts at about 380 nM with a tiny bit of UV and ranges all the way to 730 nM.
